Thanks to BikeTubes.net we can get a super deal on inner tubes as a club. If you didn't know, one tube at the shop costs $5. These cost less than $1.50, and we don't have to do bulk orders.
Special thanks to David Henry, the sponsorship director at BikeTubes.net, for getting the TriVols this sweet deal!

Good news about the race in Oct
One thing not a lot of us had realized was that there are two triathlons on the same day at the same place. One is a longer distance one (1.5k/40k/10k) and one is a shorter distance one (0.5k/10mi/5k) - (swim/bike/run)
If anyone is thinking "Man, I would love to go to a race with the team but I really don't want to do a longer distance triathlon", you have this option!
The pricing for both will be approx. $50.

Where to leave cars if you're racing this weekend
If you are racing this weekend, I would highly encourage you to carpool to our meeting spot. We are going to meet in Sequoyah Hills at 11:00 a.m on Saturday. Here are the directions from campus:
If you live off campus, make sure you get everything you need from
campus (like goggles) on Friday so you don't have to fight through
the zoo that will be gameday traffic.
Also, carpooling from campus will probably help a lot of people out.
Drew, will (I think) be on campus that morning. To talk to him
about this, call 423-593-0255

Interest meeting
If you missed the interest meeting last week, never fear! We are here to catch you up on what was discussed.
In the near future, club members will be traveling to Callaway Gardens. Anyone interested in going should sign up ASAP and let us know. Also, I found out today that the other race for the fall semester is $30 cheaper than I thought. If you see this in the next hour, you can register for $45. On Sept. 1, the price increases to $55 (I think). To get this discounted rate, you must have the collegiate code. Talk to us to get that.
We were planning on another race this fall (the weekend of Oct. 4), but that race is already full and closed to registration. So while that is a no go, we are exploring other options for that weekend.
Race for the Cure is Oct 24. It's a 5k race for a good cause, and one we have been involved with in the past.
We are planning a sweet bike trip to Cades Cove on Sept. 18-19. It's approx. 45 miles from campus to the park, and we will ride there on Friday, stay the night in the park, hike and/or ride back on Saturday. The football game that day is Florida, but we'll be back in plenty of time to watch it on tv (it's an away game). We will also have a support car to provide encouragement/car rides for those in need.
We need members of the club to pay dues. Dues are $60 for the whole year. The benefits of dues are: hotels and gas on club trips are paid for, great deals on apparrel ($50 for the full Tennessee Tri kit - that is a steal).
Anyone interested in going to Panama City Beach, FL on the weekend of November 6-8 shoot me an email at allan.j.hamilton@gmail.com
Look for a spin class in the next week or two.
